Orders from Germany- please we want 30 of your medium four prong hooks but
without any paint or colouring. An unusual request.... so first we gave them the option
of 30 bronzed hooks rather than 30 powder coated hooks. We'll see what their reaction
is and hope they will be pleasantly surprised by that alternative... Expect to hear from
them tomorrow.

If not, it will be a rush job to sand blast the colour off 30 hooks or at least get a price
for that and an emergency shipping over to Germany to keep them happy for Christmas!
Time will tell how this one works out...

As it turns out, our efforts to strip took much longer than expected and so the customer vanished
into thin air. Oh well c'est la vie and now we have 30 hooks needing a decent finish of some
sort. Thought I would try a nickel finish and see how they look.

As they say, I am sooooo happy with a few recent orders that in my
humble view reflect the true worthiness of the 3-dhook family set
of coat hooks. How grand to receive an inquiry that gets straight to
the point...
" Good products! It took me a couple of hours browsing to find the hook I wanted - long and deep so coats are separated from each other so not having to take one off to get one underneath... and visible. Congrats!"

Now here in lies the nub of a problem. Are the search engines giving the customers some results they can use, or just regurgitating the same big old, tired old, boring and dull? Well rather. So folks the message is DIG DEEPER. Search on the sunny side of the road and don't be put off if the good old search engines just leave you in the shade!

After a few ggrrrr moments lately, there's a smile on my face today. A customer in Oxfordshire
with three small children protested that all their coats were on the floor and the work on his new
home was never ending. Finally, at the end of his tether, he resolved to sort out this particular
problem. A quick Google for coat hooks, second page and there hey presto was the solution.
Clearly requiring lots of hanging capacity, the only coat hooks worth their salt were those offered
by Younger Enterprises and in particular their own design set of 3-dhooks.

Sensing his mounting panic for a quick delivery, the 13 hooks were parcelled up and sent off
by first class post (hopefully arriving Saturday morning). Pleased with our efforts to meet his
urgent need, he emailed a kind and generous letter of praise. Now it is up to the Post Officeto get off its ... and deliver on time!

Blow up the world, I am on poor form! One gets such days and this one has been simmering
for about a week. Two decent inquiries for brass swivel hooks and a coat rack, promised a decent
bit of business. Emails received, politely answered, promptly too. But hark where are the customer
replies me wonders. Follow up phone calls ( one to North Carolina, USA) and left messages elicit
a big, fat zero response. Does my 'breath smell' (!) I ask? What's the point of requesting a response
to a need and the just leaving the answer to gather dust in the gutter. Yup, it's a gggrrrrrr day. Don't
bother to ask how I am. There is a big cloud over my head and a pit bull terrier spitting venom
just waiting to grab the nearest passer by. Customers welcome. Spoil sports, ahem whilst I clear
my thoughts and arrange for a more christian response!

It is always a great pleasure to receive a cheque in
the post as well as a great compliment from a highly
satisfied customer. This morning two such incidents
have prompted me to put pen to paper and record the
satisfactory outcome for the completion of some coat hook business. Quoting directly, a Scottish lady says:- "Very many thanks for the excellent hooks. There may well be another order coming mid 2012!" And a second gentleman from Berkshire who ordered some of our largest 28 cm Bullnoser 3-hooks, reported "I love the hooks and so do my friends who have seen them. Welsh Holiday Home Seeks Super Coat Hooks

Business is a funny animal. Sometimes it is dormant, other times full of pleasant surprises.
Today was one of those that fell into the latter category. An email came in from a former, evidently
very satisfied, customer. Here's what she had to say..

      I ordered some of your wonderful hooks a few years ago and am now back for more, please.
   I'm after 6 x 28cm bullnoser hooks and would like to take up your current special offer too.      Once we've established price and postage, when do you think I might get them? I'd love it if it was by 31st August, if possible.

Well, that was a good order but, and here I have to admit my lapse of memory, I had a spring
special offer on the website which enabled the good lady to get an extra half dozen 28 cm
simple 3-d hooks for free. Ouch. Never mind...will remove the offer asap.

Soon the 12.5 kilos of hooks were tightly packed and ready for a speedy delivery to a
delightful place in Anglesey. (I often check the address on Google Earth which reveals
where my little babies end up!). Final remark from the lucky customer...
All arrived safe and sound. Thank you for fabulous products and service, yet again!

Oak Coat Rack for London lady..

Just back from an enjoyable spell in Austria ( not too brill on the weather front though).
The phone didn't take long to herald a new customer searching for a decent coat rack.
Those in the stores a full 20 inches long with brass coated plastic hooks, I am sure you
know the ones, just would not do. She had moved down to London from Edinburgh where
a strong and useful set of hooks used to do the job for her.

Fortune favours the brave and quick search for Bespoke Coat Racks turned her to Younger

We rapidly discussed the options and alighted upon a simple oak rack with 7 classic brass
coat hooks. A day later, job done and the rack was dispatched to a satisfied customer who
admired the work via an emailed photograph. So pleased to 'rack up' another one ( pun

The rain has abated and we await the arrival of a large truck to collect a decent
pile of 3-dhooks, destined for the export market. Younger Enterprises
are proud of their long record of garnering the greatest portion of annual sales
from the export markets. This activity has now been carried out in excess of ten years.

Somebody tell Downing Street that we require recognition for succeeding in the face
of all odds. It has been quite a task to juggle all the variables so as to end up with a
happy state of economic affairs in the manufacturing sector. One must say there have been
times when the local county council policy on supporting businesses with long term
potential, seemed to completely be in direct opposition to our own economic efforts.

How on earth do local government politicians, with zip business experience, know
anything about sustainable long term business when they can't even run a balanced
economic affair that they pretend to know about ie local government? Ah well the
end of our economic and political madness is at hand as we drown in debt and they
can but offer us more spending and yet more debt.

Coat Hooks, the story unfolds

May I say that the level of frustration with respect to our recuperation of the hooks that have gone astray, is taking an inordinate amount of time. The loss adjusters, who parade under the the name of Albatross and find their office in sunny Cyprus, seem to be taking their own sweet time to chivvy things along.

It is a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing...so confusion reigns and bureaucracy earns yet again the puny credentials so often evident where co-ordination and organisation should be paramount. As it stands now, I could willingly take one super sized 28 cm Bullnoser Hook and create a oak framed hanging device, the purpose of which would be to hang as many of the salvager's team thereupon. I bet we could manage three or four of them per hanging as long as a decent guage steel screw was used to secure the hook to the yard arm! What a luverly thought. Only trouble is, I probably would never recover the goods and I may end up on the end of my own hanging device as a grim reminder that time should be allowed to resolve such issues and being hot under the collar is not an attribute I should display, notwithstanding my Maltese roots! Arrrgggghhhh.

Searching for great hooks - yes it can work even on Google

After the titanic problems recently highlighted, puns abounding viz sunk costs, titanic loss, and hook line and sinker, we return to more mundane issues. Yesterday a hook searcher from Ayr alighted upon the 3-dhooks website and ordered a magnificent single hook. In fact she was attracted to the 23 cm Bronze Age Bullnoser coat hook and evidently had searched hard through pages two and down on into page 3 of the Google coat hook listings. Finally she sighted the great and good hooks that are uniquely on offer from Younger Enterprises. Her problem was how to cope with wet and dirty doggy gear without having to drape it against the wall of her conservatory and thus dirty the wall..

Solution to this hanging problem, clearly the 3-d hooks fitted the bill of being sufficiently large to cope with said items and enable the hanging thereof and simultaneous preservation of the local decor without muddy walls, or at least its minimisation !
I can but quote from the good lady herself as wider issues present and the prospect of further business is clear to see...

" Impressed by your web site and products - found via a fairly deep google search for a special hook that we could dry our wet dog walking gear on - wanted something to keep it off the wall of our very small conservatory - hook looks like it will do the job of a hat/coat stand.

Disaster strikes a blow against the mighty 3-dhook empire

We have been patiently awaiting the arrival of several pallet loads of hooks from the far
east to replenish stocks for the next few years. Well blow me down, an email arrives from the
shipping company to say that the ship had foundered and the salvagers called in to rescue
the containers and the ship. Well I never. What recompense for several months of hard work. Now
the task of recovery begins. The goods had to be offloaded onto barges and taken back to port. The ship
devoid of its weighty burden was refloated and goodness knows what they have done with it. They have their methods. Crazy but clever and ingenious people. A huge ship with a hole or two in its bottom.

Much to my relief I discover that we can get the goods again after the payment of a substantial fee. They
have to calculate an average value for the freight, every shipper has to be notified. All bills of lading and
invoices etc have to be submitted so that one can claim one's own after payment. Have to be big and swallow the cost... after all it's a 'sunk cost' and just pretend it never happened. But Younger, you dolt, you idiot, you mediocre piece of cheese cake next time insure your rubbish and don't rely on the great Germans and Chinese to not run their perishing boats onto the rocks!!!!

Indeed business carries its risks. And I might say even a mundane hardware business that barely figures on the horizon has its exciting moments. Personally I could do without this particular excitement!

Party Time for 3-dhooks!

The phone rang and rang. I wasn't there. The caller left his message, name McEwan, phone number and reason for calling... "Would like to buy some 3-dhooks, please call back." The voice was firm and strong, confident and assured. The accent a broad and clear Scot. I called back and left a message. A while later I texted as I needed to work in the carpentry room. Shortly after, the mobile sang out loudly and it was McEwan calling back. He wanted several medium 23 cm bullnoser coat hooks and a dozen 16 cm simple coat hooks.

A handsome order indeed, but what was more gratifying was that McEwan was a managing director of a construction company and he had patiently drilled down several pages of Google's results for the term Coat Hooks to find exactly what he imagined. Now that is true dedication and the result, which I am very pleased about and proud of, was that he had rejected every other coat hook in hook related websites until he finally found exactly what he needed. Chalk another one up for Younger Enterprises and the all conquering 3-dhook set!

It also begs the question of why do products that are so often nothing more than dull and boring get
the highest rankings in the search engine's returned listings? It should be quality first and then the, how can one be polite, .... rubbish?!

3-d Coat Hooks - worth waiting for!

I replied that we were having a Mediterranean break and could she please
wait until the end of the week for the discussion..."No problem, speak then. I have had hooks
from you before and would wait a year rather than buy any other!"

What a wonderful comment to receive that attests to the strength of the 3-dhook brand.
What is even more satisfying is the nature of the purchaser, a lady at the top of the
equestrian establishment. One could hardly be more delighted to have such a customer
and to receive the highest form of praise and feedback.

By contrast, I wouldn't hesitate to suggest The Juliani boutique hotel in St Julians, Malta
as a place to spend a short vacation. Overlooking Spinola Bay, here was a delightful
place to hang one's hat and from which to explore the island replete with history.

May I also recommend the Casa Rocca Picola in Valletta as a superb private house to
visit. One can pass an hour immersed in history within a private family setting. Wonderful!

3-dhooks Website satisfies an Oregon customer

Great to hear from yet another American, this time from Oregon, who couldn't find

the right coat hooks for her home. As she says, she has searched high and low for something

like our Small Brass Swivel coat hook, code SSB, Is there any way to order direct, she

pleaded. No problem. We priced up the mail charge and offered her an all in price which

was highly acceptable, and bingo another satisfied customer. Amazing to think America

doesn't seem to offer everything and in this case, Scotland has come up with the goods.

We can all do with a bit more trade and exports even if it is in exchange for US dollars!

Have to admit things have been quiet in the new year so far, except for North American exports
of a further 300 3-dhooks, assorted sizes and styles. However, in the last few days some very encouraging business has rolled in. Firstly from the lovely Isle of Jura came a really great email from

on the fifth page. My goodness we used to be top of page one... but Google has fallen asleep and offers quantity at the top rather than quality and innovation. What a pity! Hard
luck for the searchers who really want something far better than the standard rubbish!

Just viewed the rack , looks perfect, thankyou . I feel so lucky to have a dedicated cloakroom, that i had to have the right coat racks... and now I"ve got them. other people angst about curtains... i trawled the internet for the right cloakroom hooks... you have provided them!

Great news as our campaign to afford customers real solutions to their hanging problems has generated demand for an 8 foot coat rack with shelf over to go into a new boot room for a Cheshire family. They

had been considering our hooks for some months and with winter upon us, decided to pull the trigger and order the coat rack, bespoke from Younger Enterprises. Furthermore a specific Farrow and Ball paint was requested to create a smart looking rack which will incorporate a dozen 23 cm medium bullnoser 3-dhooks. These coat hooks are just the ticket for their large family and should readily cope with the mound of items to be hung up. What is more, the paint colour will perfectly offset the powder coated hook colour for a really smart effect. Can't wait to see how it looks and may I say how grateful I am to the customer for allowing a leisurely pace to turn the job around since I am in the second week of an

The phone rang and an excited voice poured out a hurried story about seeing our 3-dhooks
in a fishing lodge on Mull... what a great idea they were, what a splendid job they did and could we
possibly send some asap to a farming estate in Dorset as the shooting season was about to commence
and the guns required more substantial hooks for their gear. No problem. Within a day, 15 kilos of
assorted 3-dhooks were on their way by 48 hour guaranteed delivery so that they would arrive on time
if not for the first shoot ( last w/e) then for sure in time to be put in place for the next week end party.

The multitude of uses to which these remarkable hooks can be put is clear for all to see. Customers
are a cunning lot, quite capable of seeing just how they can turn 3-dhooks to their advantage. We are

Let's hear it for great hook service!

Having returned from Toronto, jet lag more or less abated, 3-dhooks is back in full swing.

A very large load of hooks has just been sent off to Europe and in the UK retail customers
are returning for their seasonal coat hook purchases. It is like clock work. Really very slow in the summer ( don't need hooks for beach wear!) and picks up in the autumn. We have already sent three or four lots of swivel hooks out underlining their enduring popularity. One happy customer just sent in her cheque saying the hooks were 'just what they wanted'. Another emailed to say 'Thank you, we have received the lovely swivel hooks and a cheque for £XX will be in the post today or tomorrow.' I like to hear such terms as lovely! It gladdens the heart to know our hooks elicit such a friendly response. Now we have the winter to look forward to and one wonders just who will come on to experience the 3-dhook service with a personal welcome and superb customer service!

America calling 3-dhooks. Your bronze coat hooks are wanted!

Every once in a while we receive demand from the USA direct rather than through our long time carrying agent Lee Valley Tools. ( I have to say we are especially proud that we work with Lee Valley, a top class outfit!). Most recently a customer in South Carolina had purchased 10 simple 3-dhooks and a further 10
23 cm medium bullnoser 3-dhooks both from Lee Valley. However as LV do not stock our Bronze Age
hooks, the customer, a self confessed hook nut, came direct to Scotland to fill his requirement for 10 bronze coat hooks. A discussion ensued as it always does since the postage charge is rather high, and
the customer is left with the choice of proceeding or not. We offered to bring them over to N America
within a few weeks as we would be visiting Toronto, but the need was more pressing, so we await the
decision at the time of writing. All said and done, it is a cheery thought that a home in South Carolina

Younger Enterprises scores again with 3-dhooks

The Open Golf championship is swimming its way merrily here through the rain in St Andrews.
As my Irish grandmother would say..."God help them!". No help is needed here, however, at Younger Enterprises as we scored another bulls eye on the satisfaction scale with a happy customer. Her carpenter was called in to approve her choice of 3-dhooks for her newly refurbished bootroom. The hooks are now up and she writes as follows:-

" The hooks look absolutely fantastic. I'll send you a photo once the builders are out. But I need one more of the smaller ones. Can you post and I'll send a cheque back? You should get my cheque for the others today latest sat as I posted it back last night."

How gratifying is that. One feels honoured to be of service to such an appreciative lady. I'll post the

Cross winds create hook pricing pickle..

One wonders how anyone copes in these highly fluid times with the decisions to be made about

sourcing of supplies and the pricing thereof. China is getting more expensive but is still very much

the low cost source for many goods. One reads about large wage increases over there and that the

currency peg to the dollar is slipping to ease world economic tensions.... A recent quote for supply of our 3-dhooks was three times the previous amounts paid! Goodness me how will the Germans so strict on pricing and worried about inflation cope with a trebling of prices?! Answer is of course they would stop

buying and only the strictest control of costs govern where their business is allocated.

But what about manufacturing in the UK? Would love to do that and gain better control over production and much, much shorter lead times. That is a nice solution to muse about but where is the manufacturing

base for relatively simple goods to which one can turn for a quote? Any takers out there? We are in

a pickle with this world so fickle and one wonders about closing shop as the struggle is overwhelming and the solution so cloudy. Should 3-dhooks disappear off the market and with it a great idea, exports from the UK and local activity for delivery firms, accountant, book keeper, suppliers etc.

Ever ready to create our customer's dream coat racks, we were delighted to obtain an indicated order for 2 fresh new coat racks for a new abode. The customer, a charming lady who thrilled to our product offerings took a few days to review the items we had proposed. I called to ascertain how she was getting
along with her choice, but un-beknownst ( what a word!) to her, her husband had already purchased a couple of off the peg racks in their new home, whilst she was closing down her old property. Poor communications! Ahgggrrrr! Disappointed manufacturer!

This internet business is a taxing exercise to say the least. The big boys ( usual culprits like Screwfix, Amazon and other ugly gargantuans with little imagination and a world class dullness of appearance and offerings) needless to say dominate the pages returned to the web browsing public. One must therefore drill down to find the interesting stuff. Yesterday, Claudia a German customer, said she had spent hours looking for coat hooks and coat racks before she spotted 3-dhooks.com website. Charged with enthusiasm for our unique hooks ( practical, strong, high capacity and stylish too!), in came the order for a handful of coat hooks as well as a request for a quote for two coat racks similar to one she spotted on our Bespoke Coat Rack page. I called her to ascertain how she discovered the 3-dhooks website and we had a great chat about the process. This confirmed my belief that the internet is close to a racket that the browser must learn how to handle for best results. Seek and ye shall find. It is for most websites seeking to be found a zero sum game. What on earth is the use of links? For the most part they are never looked at I would venture. This recession is very, well extremely, demoralising. Days drift by and the arid market for decent

Summer doldrums for coat hooks

All is quiet as people shed their outer layers of clothing for another season of warmth, sunshine (hopeful?!) and balmy days. Coats, jackets, hats and all are firmly put out of sight and few think of
those awful coat hooks that are usually over-loaded and oh so inconvenient. That is the least of my
concerns as a substantial customer has asked me to confirm prices for the next year or two. Now
there's a problem. With currencies gyrating all over hell's half acre, just who on earth can figure out
what to charge X months hence. Will there even be a world economy left I ask myself in darker moments of economic despair! My goodness I have got it... quote prices for coat hooks in ounces of gold
( that would be nice!), or perhaps ounces of silver. Oh Lord why make life so complicated? Why is man

Very courteous of a recent customer to send this little missive saying that I should
add it to the 3-dhooks website. Much obliged I told the lady, a fine horsewoman and

An Edinburgh householder, a big factor in the commercial real estate business, wanted a similar

rack to one he had spotted on the 3-dhooks website, but with a few variations. In particular the rack was to go in an entry way and the door opened onto the place identified for the rack's installation. We decided it would be best to rake the shelf and accommodate the maximum door opening without hard knocking up against the shelf. Also three 16 cm simple 3-dhooks in the central section would be ample for his needs along with the iconic Younger design of 2 sideways projecting 23 cm medium bullnoser

As luck would have it, sometimes in life a few events coincide to make one realise that there are bigger opportunities out there than one had imagined. Very content to have sent a sparkling new set of a dozen hooks to a grand English country estate, the owner of which is dedicated to horses, then a few days later a desperate for space owner of a tack and riding business contacted us asking for our 3-dhooks. She had looked long and hard but was unable to find what she wanted. She tried various keyword search terms and finally 3-dhooks.com hoved into sight. We had a good chat and agreed that our keywords could be expanded to cover various tack related terms to facilitate the discovery of the wonderful 3-dhook set.

This sport related market comes on top of a recent sale of the large 28 cm bullnoser hooks to a Scottish Estate where there was need to tidy up the storage of their fishing rods and tackle. Great idea!

The coat hook business seems to have been 'on ice' lately. Have we slipped down the search engine list, consigned to oblivion for ever more I asked myself on a another cloudy and windswept day? Then, whilst out walking the dog, my trusty Blackberry vibrates in the folds of my pockets with some urgency. I waited until I got home to check out the incoming mail. Goodness me! It is a funny if slightly strange thing that we received a good order for our classic
brass coat hooks from America. Normally you can find what you want on the internet in America. About ten years ago we handled many American orders which gradually dropped off
as the web became more competitive and niche suppliers of just about everything popped up
over there. I recollect sending some classic brass coat hooks off to a customer in the mid west who couldn't find the classic hook anywhere in his city. Well behold ten years or so later, another customer has had the same problem and had to come directly to us in
Scotland to satisfy their need for the style and elegance of the classic brass hook. I am not complaining, but perhaps the internet has not filled all the needs of customers everywhere with everything they can dream of! Moral of the story is there are still opportunities for the entrepreneur out there. I would say the biggest drawback one is confronted by is the colossal level of government deficits and the need for balance which means tax rises, economic slowdown and so forth. Invest in a big inventory, and you could be stuck with a big headache!

Yesterday was a day of surprises. A friend was passing through St Andrews and called to say could they pop in as they were refurbishing their house on Mull and needed coat hooks. Shortly the door bell rang and we skipped into the hook store to check out what would be appropriate for their needs. Today, my birthday, was to be the hand-over day for the latest coat racks. To minimise the cost, the purchaser agreed to visit the home of 3-dhooks and collect his booty. An
early phone call however changed the handover. Instead it has been agreed to meet at the
B&Q car park in Dundee. Now wouldn't it be great if B&Q could have a look see at the magnificent coat rack sporting the greatest coat hooks available on earth. These hooks are definitely NOT AVAILABLE at B&Q, not no-how! It is on the other hand a pleasure to know that a customer, who rejected the idea of buying the run of the mill hooks available at B&Q, will be collecting a very smart new rack on their premises. Evidentally we are still very much in the grips of winter as customers are still thinking about their hanging problems and storage solutions. An Edzell customer has finished an major change to his residence and thought about hooks and a coat rack for the new specially dedicated coat hall for which he now has ample space. We asked how he came across 3-dhooks and he said his first thought was a visit to B&Q. He rapidly shed that idea, which is 'no idea' at all and checked out on the internet under his local search function to see what might pop up. Younger Enterprises has been busy assuring a good ranking in the local search engines for Scotland and sure enough he found us promptly. These racks were to be quite large at six foot in length. One on top for the

Let's face it, life in Scotland is a wee bit grim these harsh and pesky days of winter. In itself that does not negate any warm feelings of glowing satisfaction when yet another order for a new, bespoke coat rack rolls in for prompt execution. Stepping gingerly over the snow and ice, I negotiate my way to the sub arctic temperatures of the carpentry room at the back of the garage ( which I might add stores approximately 15 tons of coat hooks). I unlock the door and behold my trusty right hand man Paul Edwards has transformed the space and got rid of all the excess clutter such as dismantled wardrobes & etc. My heart gladdens when I see the superb power tools lately purchased made by FESTOOL, a truly fabulous German make that underscores their brilliance at such
things. In no time the wood is sized, cut, shaped and put together all perfectly squared up. Now the sticky, tricky part has to be overcome. In these frigid conditions how quickly will the stain and varnish harden off? Well, easily done if you remove the new rack to the boiler house and take advantage of the heat from our old boiler. Job done and another satisfied customer in Sterling will have a rack to be proud of for ever more. Service rendered, weather notwithstanding!

The winter chill seemed to have put a crimp on the spending habits of the nation until
we were greeted by an order for the prompt delivery of two coat racks for a distraught
mother. Evidently her accommodation was substantial, her needs were overwhelming and most of their coats were on the floor. Business has it's ups and downs. We normally rely on the trusty service provided by
Parcelforce to deliver in a timely manner to our customers up and down the breadth of the land. However, we just had a 'major' shock. A customer tapped in the wrong house number for the delivery, hitting a 4 instead of a 3. The package, a hefty item, was to our surprise, when alerted of a so far missing delivery, marked down in the track and trace facility as being "Refused by Addressee". Goodness me, horror of horrors. A week
later the forlorn package was returned to us at no cost ( that was the one positive of this event). One has to ask, why on earth with its data base they could not put two and two together and deliver across the road instead of going to the entire palaver of returning the perishing package to Scotland from down south. Anyhow, mindful of the hard times we volunteered to swallow the extra mailing and the customer was very grateful. Coat rack enjoyed the round trip but was deprived of a decent view as most traveling was done at night, not to mention the restriction of some some heavy packaging!

I have to say my customers are a smart 'bunch'. They select just the type of hooks that I would select. Only trouble is, stocks keep running low and so we have to order in
advance so as not to be caught short of popular lines. In our business, to be economic,
one has to buy from the usual candidates...namely India and China. The time to receive the goods varies enormously. Sometimes for example in India when the outside temperature
soars to over 40 degrees, the producers have to cope with the extra heat from their work.
My goodness it must be difficult. To think that the coat hooks have been wrought into existence under such trying circumstances, makes one think! Our Chinese suppliers have problems and issues of their own to cope with, but we persevere. How infinitely preferable it would be to make the goods in the UK. This is not my doing but the culmination of economic evolution over the decades. Let's hope for a better balance to
economic activity in the years ahead. So far I don't see much sign of that, but on the contrary every sign of tension and mounting problems. Just a minute, this is a coat hook blog, not an examination of navels! Sorry. Lets see which hooks we have recently sent out...

Spurred on by memories of the needs of winter, a customer requested a simple rack
using light oak and half a dozen Acorn Simple coat hooks. This was a straight forward
task, completed in an afternoon. The longest part was waiting for the oil wax coating
to dry off and produce its lovely satin effect. The customer was delighted with her rack which now adorns her house near Ilkley. The total cost for this high class

We've done it again, a coat rack for a customer who required the beauty of lightly stained oak and satin varnish combined with our new bronze age 16 cm simple 3-dhook to cope with all their hanging needs. To be set in a recess, a coat rack was made with a 23 cm shelf and an equal length rack made for the opposite wall, without a shelf. Sometimes ideas come from a customer's needs clearly articulated and then translated into a useful new product addition in the hanging department. In this instance, there was only one spot in a washroom to have a coat rack facility. Michael Younger, ever ready to jump to the assistance of a fresh client, devised this superb corner rack which incorporates two of Younger's Bronze Age model 23 cm Medium Bullnoser coat hooks.
These have been mounted on oak using an ingenious technique so as to present the hooks fanning out from the corner. A clever solution for a happy customer. Bravo!
